Biztrac is a Norwegian platform that brings together official register data, public financial statements and ownership relationships for more than a million Norwegian companies — and makes them searchable and understandable for everyone.
What is Biztrac?
Biztrac takes its data directly from the public registers of the Brønnøysund Register Centre and the Norwegian Tax Administration. Every piece of information is sourced, regularly updated and freely available — the same material you can find scattered across a number of public sites, but gathered and searchable in one place.
What separates Biztrac from the official sources is analysis and assembly. We combine company data with detailed analysis of ownership structures, so you can see who actually controls a company — including through long ownership chains, holding structures and indirect ownership. We also calculate financial-health ratios and estimated valuations from the figures companies themselves have filed with the Register of Company Accounts.
Company and register information is updated daily, while financial figures are updated as companies file their annual accounts with the authorities — typically during the first half of each year.

Company search
Search more than a million Norwegian companies by name, organisation number, industry or location. The company page shows register information, incorporation date, legal form, shareholders, board members and general manager, financial ratios and historical accounts — all on one page.
Financial health and valuation
For companies with filed annual accounts, Biztrac automatically calculates three financial-health ratios: the current ratio (ability to meet short-term liabilities), return on total assets (profitability relative to total capital) and the equity ratio (solidity). Each is graded on a scale from “Not satisfactory” to “Very good”, so you can form a picture of a company's financial position quickly.
An estimated valuation is also calculated for many companies, based on filed figures and industry-adjusted multiples. These are estimates — not official figures — but a useful starting point for further analysis.
Ownership graph
The ownership graph is an interactive tool for exploring ownership structures visually. You can click through ownership chains, see who owns whom, and uncover indirect ownership through holding companies and group structures. For individuals and holding companies, an estimated total portfolio value is calculated from the holdings.
Data sources and quality
All data in Biztrac comes from Norwegian public registers and is licensed under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). We add no judgements of our own about companies beyond the calculated ratios and estimated valuations.
- The Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities – Official company data: name, address, legal form, industry code and register status for every Norwegian entity.
- The Register of Business Enterprises – Incorporation date, articles of association, auditor and roles such as general manager, board members and signatories.
- The Shareholder Register – Ownership stakes and shareholder data for limited companies (AS) and public limited companies (ASA), supplied by the Norwegian Tax Administration.
- The Register of Company Accounts – Publicly filed annual accounts with income statement, balance sheet and notes. Updated continuously as companies file.

- Is the data on Biztrac free to use?
- Yes. Company search, financial ratios, ownership structure and role information are freely available without signing in. Some advanced features, such as PDF reports and credit assessments, are paid.
- How up to date is the data?
- Company register and role data are updated daily from the Brønnøysund registers. Financial figures are updated as companies file their annual accounts, which typically happens between January and June for the preceding financial year. Shareholder data from the Tax Administration is updated once a year.
- How many companies are in Biztrac?
- Biztrac holds more than 1.1 million Norwegian entities from the Central Coordinating Register — including active companies, deregistered entities and every legal form from sole proprietorships to large public limited companies.
- Can I find information about foreign companies?
- For now Biztrac covers only Norwegian entities registered with the Brønnøysund registers. Norwegian subsidiaries of foreign groups are shown, but the foreign parent is not shown in full.
- What is the difference between Biztrac and Proff.no or the Brønnøysund registers?
- The Brønnøysund registers are the official source and show data from the specific register you search. Proff.no is a commercial service focused on credit assessment. Biztrac focuses on assembly and analysis: we show ownership structures across companies, calculate financial ratios, and make actual ownership relationships easy to understand.
- Who is behind Biztrac?
- Biztrac is developed and operated by Adventis AS, a Norwegian company. The platform was launched to make Norwegian business information more accessible and usable than the official sources alone allow.
