What data we process

Biztrac shows information about Norwegian companies and roles taken from public registers (the Brønnøysund Register Centre and the Norwegian Tax Administration). This is publicly available data, published under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD).

When you visit the site, certain technical data is processed automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and which pages you visit. This is used for operations, security and statistics.

For visitor statistics we use our own first-party solution, without cookies and without third parties. To count unique visitors over time we create a pseudonymised value (a salted hash of IP address and browser type). We also store the IP address and browser type (User-Agent) in order to detect crawlers, automated collection (scraping) and abuse, and for operations and security. The IP address is also used to look up approximate geographic origin (country and region) via a local lookup database. We record which pages and companies are viewed, including activity in the ownership graph, dataset downloads, completed account registration and when a company is followed, so that we can understand whether the content leads to useful use of the service. The analytics events contain no email address or internal user ID. The data is kept no longer than necessary for these purposes, is otherwise used only in aggregate for operations and statistics, is not shared with third parties, and known crawlers are excluded from the aggregate figures. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving use of the service, and in securing the service against abuse (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

We use cookies to make the website work and to serve advertising. You can manage and withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time via the consent banner.

Advertising from Google

We use Google AdSense to serve advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Payment

When you buy a product on the site, the payment itself is handled by our payment provider Vipps MobilePay. To complete the purchase, the necessary details – such as amount, order reference and contact information – are shared with the payment provider. Vipps MobilePay is an independent data controller for the personal data it processes in connection with the payment, in accordance with its own privacy statement.

We store information about the purchase, such as order reference, amount, email address and time, for as long as necessary to deliver the product, meet our bookkeeping obligations (retention under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act) and handle any complaints.

You have the right to access, rectify and erase personal data we process about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. Contact us at personvern@biztrac.no to exercise your rights.
