Formålet skal oppnås ved at stiftelsens grunnkapital og gaver og bidrag ellers stilles til rådighet for å arbeide for å fremme kunnskap om villreinen som kan bidra til god, kunnskapsbasert forvaltning og sikre en livskraftig og sunn villreinstamme med genetisk særpreg.
