- Organisasjonen skal være grunneiernes organ for forvaltningen av villreinstammen i Setesdal-ryfylke villreinområde. SRV skal fungere som samarbeidsorgan for lokallagene og være kontaktorgan til myndigheten, organisasjoner og andre interesser. SRV skal arbeide for å sikre villreinen sitt livsgrunnlag.
