Most rankings list individual companies. But many of Norway's largest businesses are organised as groups, with a parent company and a number of subsidiaries. The new Largest groups ranking treats the whole group as one.
We group companies by ultimate owner, following majority ownership (above 50%) up through the ownership graph, and sum the companies' revenue. That brings the grocery giants and the large industrial groups clearly into view — even when the business is spread across many legal entities.
